About Diamond Creek Carols in the Park

Carols in the Park takes place on Christmas Eve each year, in Wadeson Reserve, Diamond Creek, from 8.30 PM to 9.30 PM.

Everyone is encouraged to join in singing traditional Carols. Bring along a rug, picnic basket and torch. Join our local orchestra and singers with your family and friends.

Youngsters are invited to take part in a bracket of Carols at the front of the orchestra in the singing of classics like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, playing simple musical instruments provided by the organisers.

History

This Diamond Creek tradition began in the early 1990s when a group of enthusiastic local musicians took to presenting carols as people from far and wide enjoyed the Christmas decorations along Grassy Flat Road.

Today, a volunteer orchestra of some 50 musicians, along with a team of singers and support crew, present carols and other musical interludes to a crowd of hundreds — many of whom came as children and now bring their own children.

This community-driven event is supported by the CFA and local council, and more volunteers are always welcome! If you’re a budding musician, we’d love for you to join in!
